Recertification: How to Renew Active

How to renew your certification as Active. The easiest way is to be affiliated with an agency and submit an application through your National Registry account.  

Make sure you know who needs to approve your Recertification application and once the application is submitted verify with that person(s)  they have access to review it. 

Providers renewing as Active must-have skills competency verified by a Training Officer or physician Medical Director.  
  1. For EMR and EMT providers, skills competency is completed by a Training Officer. 
  2. For AEMT and Paramedic providers skills competency is completed by a  physician Medical Director. 

Being affiliated does not mean your recertification will be completed as Active.  If your Training Officer or Medical Director does not verify skills competency you may be renewed as Inactive.
