What is distributive education?

Distributive education (DE) is defined as a method of delivering EMS education where the student, instructor, and materials are not able to interact in real-time. Distributive education can be used towards your recertification. Here are some distributive education examples include but are not limited to, journal article reviews, videos, and some online courses.

A live, non-distributive education course is one in which a live instructor may be physically present in a classroom or a live virtual environment where the student, instructor, and materials interact in real-time. Some non-distributive education examples are live classroom education or CAPCE F5 Virtual Instructor-led (VILT) courses.

Refer to the chart below that breaks down the DE limits for each level.
